The Horror Movie Magazine You Can Really Sink Your Teeth Into
Issue #8

Editorial

Pam Keesey

Cute, Cuddly Kittens

Don’t worry. We haven’t gone all cute on you. We’re still the same horror movie magazine we’ve always been. The kitten which graces our navigation isn’t any ordinary kitten. That’s Cc:, otherwise known as Copycat, the first successfully cloned pet in the world. Copycat was introduced to the media this summer as yet another step toward the inevitable cloning of humans. It’s not just supporters and critics of cloning who see (fear?) the cloning of domestic animals as the first step toward human cloning, much like the Arnold Schwarzenegger film The Sixth Day, which portrayed a future world where the cloning of pets is as common as a trip to the mall. While some see Cc: as a hopeful sign, there are others who have seen Cc: and her ilk crop up in any number of horror contexts, and that is why Cc: is gracing MonsterZine’s navigation bar.

The Forry Update

Word has it that Forry is recovering well. The surgery that he had, while common, does have an unusually long recuperation period, but it sounds like Forry has come through it all with shining colors. You can’t keep the great Forrest J Ackerman down!
